July 10th, 2009 Midnight Run
The next Midnight Run to NYC - Upper Manhattan area is scheduled for
Friday, July 10th. This mission involves
people from NHRC going to NYC around 8 p.m., delivering clothes and
food to the homeless along a designaed route.
In order to make this a successful mission, we need your help. We
are looking for people that are willing to go with
us. We meet at the church at 7:30 p.m. and return around 4
a.m. We need people to make or donate food to take
on the run, package the meals (6 p.m. on 7/10) and/or donate
clothing. We are looking for donations of the following
items:
- Sandwiches, bananas or oranges, cookies, candy
- Tube socks, belts, duffle bags or backpacks, men' underwear (size
32-42), men's shoes (sizes 9-12 and above)
- Nice t-shirts (sizes M - XXL) and sweatshirts, men's pants (sizes
34, 36 and 38, plus a few larger sizes)
- Travel size toileries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo,
razors, shaving cream, deodorant, and lip balm)
There are sign-up sheets in the Gathering Area for those of you who are
willing to help. You will receive an e-mail
reminder or a phone call one week before the mission. Donations
of food can be brought to the church kitchen on
July 10 by 6 p.m. All toiletries and various other donations can
be dropped off at the Education Center. Without
your generous donations, this mission would not be possible. Any

March 22, 2008 Midnight Run
report
What a blessing! We had another wonderful run to the city and it
was even the night before Easter. Sixteen people
went down. Another great showing by the youth-- these are kids to
be proud of. Over half of the group was new to
the Midnight Run. A big thank you goes out to Jeff Wright for
leading our group to the city. There were 75 meals
served with 7 stops being made.
