The Christian Education Council serves our church in many ways. The Council is responsible for all aspects of Christian Education in our church. Our service to you begins with the Nursery and follows through to Adult Education. We insure our Nursery is staffed to provide care for our little ones at both services. One of our primary responsibilities is to provide the best possible Christian Education to our children. Our Sunday School, under the leadership of Christian Education Director Kris Rice, is staffed with a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers. Their key focus is to help teach God's love through a wonderful curriculum of Bible stories. Our youth and high school young adults are led by volunteers who guide them not only to hear God's word but direct them through hands-on mission work. Opportunities are offered to adults in our congregation through Sunday morning Bible Study, the Church library, and a variety of other programs.
Sunday School
Sunday School for children ages 2 - senior high is currently in session during the 9:15 a.m. service. Parents should take their children to worship first, and the teachers will bring them back to the classrooms after the first part of the service. For more information, please contact Kris Rice, Christian Education Director at 462-0810, ext 104.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
Nursery Care: Please give thought to volunteering in the Nursery. Even though we have a caregiver on staff, we still need to have another person helping with the little ones each week. The sign-up sheet is at the Information Center in the Gathering Area. If you have any questions, please contact Kris Rice.
“The heart of the giver makes the gift dear and precious.” Martin Luther
Vacation Bible School will take place the week of August 6th - 10th. Our theme this year is called SKY, where "Everything is Possible with God.” We will need lots of volunteers (teens and adults) to make the week a fun-filled, exciting learning adventure for the children. Watch up-coming church bulletins and newsletters for further information. Registration will start at the end of May.
Upcoming Dates:
The last regular Sunday School classes will be held on June 3rd.
Children's Sunday will be on June 10th - 10:00 a.m. (one service begins), and the Family Picnic will be immediately after the service.
Youth Group
The Youth Group of New Hackensack Reformed Church consists of youth from seventh grade through High School as well as some young adults. It is led by a team of volunteer adult leaders with the youth helping to lead the programs. Our goal is to follow the examples of Christ to provide discipleship, worship, fellowship, mission and evangelism opportunities for our youth in order to help them become better followers of Christ and better leaders in their schools and communities. New members are always welcome!
Youth Group meets on Sundays at 11:00 a.m., during the second service, in the Youth Room
