It’s almost here! It’s big, It’s the greatest, Annual Piggy Bank Bazaar Ever!!!

Come Join Us, bring your Family and Friends and make some memories as we host

the 50th Annual Piggy Bank Bazaar!!!

 

We welcome our young shoppers as they buy gifts for their family and friends on Saturday, December 5th from 9am to Noon here at the New Hackensack Reformed Church. No gift over $3.00 and gift wrapping is FREE.

 

Many of our stunning assortments of crafty homemade gifts are arranged by categories in 6 rooms. Featured gifts are for children, women, men, pets, personalized items, flower arrangements, and Christmas themed gifts. Photographers will be on hand to take a small photo of your child and put it in ornamental frames just in time for Christmas.

 

We have 2000 advertising cards to be widely distributed in the community. This bazaar is such a unique experience for children, and we really want their parents to know about it. If you can help, the cards can be picked up at the Information Table in the Gathering Area of the church.

 

Our guides (most of whom are Girl Scouts) will be on hand to escort the younger children and help them with their shopping, at the cashier, and the wrapping needs. Older children may shop on their own. Parents can help too, or they can wait in the Fellowship Hall where there will be refreshments, the Bake Sale, activities for the children, and musical entertainment. Adult shopping is open from Noon to 12:30pm.

 

For the Bazaar to run smoothly, we need Many Volunteers. During the month of November Look for Signup Sheets in the Gathering Area; or contact Pat Meaney (meaneypj@gmail.com).

 

Also, ATTENTION: Junior and Senior High School Students; Volunteering at the Piggy Bank Bazaar, (including Moving Boxes Day, Nov. 22nd) can be used as a Community Service Activity. You will be provided with a letter of thanks on the church’s letterhead.

 

Christmas is coming, so start planning for the following Volunteer Events:

 

Sunday, Nov.22nd – Moving Boxes Day! After the church service, many hands make this go quickly. All our gifts and wrappings need to be moved from the basement to the Education Center. The boxes are generally lightweight and will be piled into the center of rooms 13 and 15. The gift-wrapping supplies go through room 9 and then to the back of the Youth Room. Here we will need Volunteers to sort the wrappings into categories.

  

Wednesday, Dec. 2nd  - 9am, Sorting of the Gifts Day! We need many Volunteers to move the gifts from the huge pile in rooms 13 and 15 to the gift table destination. (Youth, Women’s, Men’s, Pet’s, Personalized, Flower Arrangements, and Christmas themed gift tables in 6 separate rooms). If time permits, we will also do the inventory of the many gifts.

 

Friday and/Saturday, Dec. 4th - 9am; Dec. 5th – 8:30am, Volunteers are needed for Setup, Bazaar Day, and Cleanup. Here is your opportunity to help at the bazaar. Volunteers are needed at the tables: to set up, to help the children in gift selection at that table, packing unsold items, and cleanup afterwards. At the Bazaar we have a large area devoted to gift wrapping the presents for the children. We need many Volunteers to sit at the tables wrapping the gifts.

 

Volunteer Bakers - Baked goods, homemade or bought, will be needed along with small plates, napkins, and cups for Bazaar Day. Baked goods can be brought to the church kitchen on Friday, Dec. 4th and Saturday, Dec. 5th.

 

Friday, Dec. 4th-9am, Volunteers are needed to set up tables and chairs in the Fellowship Hall, Wrapping Room, and the Hallways. Volunteer Decorators for the Halls- to hang mini lights and snowflakes

 

Saturday, Dec. 5th- 12:30, we will need a group of Volunteers again to break down tables, put the table and chairs away, and cleanup. And to return unsold giftboxes and wrapping supplies back to the basement.

 

Bazaar snow date is Sunday, December 6th, Noon to 3pm.

Wednesday Morning Workshop – Now that it is November, we will be very busy finishing things up. Meeting dates are November 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th in rooms 13 and 15 in the Education Center from 9:30am to 11:30am.

 

Last minute donations: Left over Halloween Candy, Christmas theme plastic tablecloths, napkins, and small plates, gift bags, scotch tape, scissors, tissue paper, bows, ribbon, pens, pencils, new pet toys, 81/2x11 photo paper, tinsel garland, and any craft ideas and supplies are always welcome. Donations can be left in room 15.

 

We would like to borrow a camera that has an SD card, which is taken from the camera and plugged into the computer. This camera would be used by our photographers when they take a photo of a child and later the photo is printed and then framed.

 

Inclosing, stop by the Showcase in the Gathering Area to get a preview of this year’s stunning assortment of gifts that will be on sale at the Bazaar.
